SSEIP Strengthens Teaching Capacity in five Core Subjects

The Sindh Secondary Education Improvement Project (SSEIP) has launched the second cohort of its teachers’ capacity-building programme, with 242 female teachers from across Sindh beginning training on December 29, 2025. The 12-day programme will continue until January 10, 2026, at the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA), Karachi.

The training targets teachers of Grades 9 and 10, focusing on Chemistry and Mathematics. Previous cohorts under SSEIP successfully covered Biology and English, completing training in four of the project’s five core subjects.

Structured around Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), the programme promotes student-centred pedagogy, effective integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and innovative classroom practices. Key cross-cutting themes include gender-inclusive teaching approaches and the use of zero-cost, locally available materials to enhance learning.

The initiative aims to strengthen teachers’ instructional capacity and support the delivery of engaging, inclusive, and outcome-oriented education in public sector secondary schools across Sindh.

Participants welcomed both the academic content and facilitation arrangements. One teacher noted that the availability of an on-site daycare facility enabled female participants to attend the training with peace of mind and full focus. “The training is highly practical, and we are eager to apply these new strategies in our classrooms,” she said.

Through SSEIP, the Government of Sindh continues to invest in strengthening teaching quality across five core subjects—English, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics—aligned with broader education reform goals.
