The Sindh Secondary Education Improvement Project (SSEIP) has continued to advance its province-wide capacity-building programme for secondary school teachers across 22 districts, with a focus on strengthening classroom instruction through modern pedagogical practices.

The initiative, which commenced in June 2025, targets 2,630 teachers of Grades IX and X in five core subjects — English, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. To date, 1,850 teachers have completed training under the project’s structured learning modules.

Recent programme activities have concentrated on cognitive pedagogies, student learning outcome (SLO)-based content mastery, integration of information and communication technologies, and gender-inclusive teaching practices. These areas have been prioritized to support the transition towards student-centred and technology-enabled teaching at the secondary level.

The capacity-building efforts have contributed to strengthening teachers’ instructional competencies and fostering more inclusive classroom environments. The initiative remains aligned with the reform priorities of the Sindh Education and Literacy Department and the broader education improvement framework supported by development partners.

Ongoing progress under the programme underscores Sindh’s sustained commitment to improving the quality of secondary education through targeted teacher development and system-level reform.
